In 1989, GMP (Scotland) Ltd relocated to Central Park Stadium. The same year saw the creation of the now legendary concrete wall around the track and the subsequent christening of The Cowdenbeath Racewall.

On the 25th of March 1992, a significant portion of the 120 year old, 3000-seat wooden grand stand at Central Park Stadium was destroyed by fire. Fortunately half of the original structure was salvagable and indeed, still stands today. Although rebuilding of the grand stand commenced immediately, it would be two years before the new grand stand and offices would be completed.
